Does my EV-charger work with the EnergyHub?

Answer:

All models of electric car chargers that are alternating current chargers (AC charging) work together with the EnergyHub.

The system can balance loads between incoming phases to:

  • Enable higher power for, for example, 1-phase charging than what one of your main fuses allows.
  • Ensure that your electric car charger has as much available power as possible when you need it.
  • Maximize the charging to your electric car charger as most electric car chargers only start if you have at least 6A available on all your house phases.

By connecting electric car chargers via the OCPP protocol to the EnergyHub, you enable:

  • Viewing your electric car charging in Ferroamp's EnergyCloud portal.
  • Utilizing EnergyHub system's measurements and secondary data to control down your electric car charging as needed. The system detects how much power is available in total in your property, including phase balancing, solar power production, and energy storage. You can control the electric car charger based on a fixed network power to avoid high power peaks from the grid or let it use all the available power that your main fuse can deliver. Currently, we visualize instantaneous power consumption for your electric car charger. In future versions, you will also be able to see how much energy has been used for the electric car charger.

Ultimately, the EnergyHub system will be able to support all electric car chargers that have integrated local OCPP 1.6-J in the charging point. Check with the manufacturer of your electric car charger if the model follows the standard. Currently, EnergyHub only supports integration with one charging point per system, which means you can fully utilize the system's benefits on one charging outlet.

The following chargers are tested, verified, and supported by Ferroamp at present:

GARO GLB+ (NOTE! Installation of GARO charger requires you to be a certified GARO installer)

Garo Entity PRO (firmware >1.6.0)

CTEK Chargestorm Connected 2 - 1 outlet

CTEK Chargestorm Connected 2 - 2 outlets*

Raymond Smart Solar Charger / Enelion Stilo

Wallbox Pulsar Plus (v5.13.11)

Wallbox Copper SB (v5.13.11)

Charge-Amps Halo [Software version v158]

NOTE, only 3-phase charging stations can be connected to the EnergyHub system via OCPP.

Example from the portal with a connected electric car charger via OCPP:

*Only one charging point will be visualized in EnergyCloud, and charging outlet 1 will be prioritized for charging.
