How do I use spot prices in the portal?

Ferroamp has introduced spot price control to help customers charge their batteries when electricity is cheap and discharge when the electricity price is higher. The spot price control only takes into account the spot price and the set import threshold limit.

To activate spot price control, follow these steps:

  1. Select Currency Code for the Facility:

    • Go to System Settings → System Information.
    • In the dropdown, choose the currency code that applies to your facility (e.g., EUR for Euro).
  2. Select Energy Bidding Zone for the Facility:

    • In the same System Settings → System Information, choose the relevant Energy Bidding Zone for your facility from the dropdown menu.
    • The available zones are:
      • SE1
      • SE2
      • SE3
      • SE4
      • NO1
      • NO2
      • NO3
      • NO4
      • NO5
      • DK1
      • DK2
      • NL
    • Example: Choose SE3 if your facility is in that zone.
  3. Enable Spot Price Scheduling:

    • Go to System Settings → System Information, where you will find the option to enable the spot price schedule and set it to ON to activate a spot price schedule.
  4. Set Minimum Price Difference Between Two Time Periods:

    • Enter a floating-point value for the Minimum price difference (e.g., 0.1 EUR).
    • This is the minimum price change required between two time periods for a charge/discharge cycle to occur.
  5. Optional: Set Import Threshold:

    • If applicable, enter an import threshold value.
    • This helps to keep the grid import below a specified level. If the threshold is set, charging power may be reduced to maintain this limit.
  6. Generate Events:

    • Once the Spot Price Control is enabled for the first time, a set of new schema events will be generated within one minute.

Once these settings are applied, your system will be ready to manage energy flows based on spot prices.
