What is a BMS?

Answer:

A BMS (Battery Management System) is a system that manages a rechargeable battery (cell or battery pack). It is the internal control system of the battery.

  • The BMS protects the battery from operating outside its safe operating range in terms of charge level and charging/discharging power.

  • The BMS monitors the condition of the battery.

  • The BMS calculates and reports secondary data.

  • The BMS controls the battery's environment and authenticates and/or balances the battery.

All batteries sold by Ferroamp have a BMS. The BMS, in turn, communicates with the EnergyHub through Ferroamp's ESO, which acts as a bridge between the BMS and the EnergyHub.
