What is off-grid and how does it work?

Answer:

Off-grid, as the name suggests, is an electrical system that is disconnected from the public grid. The difference between an off-grid system and a backup system is that an off-grid system completely lacks grid connection, whereas a backup system only allows the system to power electrical components in the property when external power is down.
