Which settings should the battery have during the winter?

Answer:

When winter arrives and the battery is no longer being charged with solar power, there is a risk that it will remain idle. A battery that is not used continuously wears out and risks entering modes that require support. To avoid this, we recommend adjusting the battery settings during the winter months. It is often economically beneficial.

Below are three examples of how the battery can be set up to be used smartly during the winter months.

Example:

  • Option 1. Schedule charging during the hours of the night that are usually the cheapest (00-05) and discharge during the morning (08-10) and afternoon (17-19) hours, which are typically the most expensive. Read more about scheduling.

  • Option 2. If you simply want to keep the battery operational, you can easily choose the preset Peak Shaving setting and allow the import of energy from the grid to charge the battery. The battery will then discharge during your own consumption peaks. If you pay for power tariffs, this is often more profitable. Read more about Peak shaving.
